President’s Message

Dear esteemed members of the Malaysian National Society of Audiologists (MANSA), esteemed colleagues, and distinguished visitors.

A warm welcome to MANSA’s official website. It is with great humility and gratitude that I address you today as the newly elected President of MANSA for the 2023-2025 term. On behalf of the entire Malaysian audiology fraternity, I would like to express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Nurul Huda Bani and the previous MANSA committee for their unwavering dedication and efforts in upholding the values of our esteemed organization.

During these two terms, spanning from 2023 to 2025, our responsibility as MANSA’s elected Executive Committee, alongside the six portfolios, is of paramount importance in raising the standards and benchmarks for our fellow Malaysian audiologists. With the implementation of the Allied Health Profession Act 774, MANSA’s role has expanded, ensuring the visibility of the Malaysian audiology fraternity and positioning us at the forefront of our profession, fostering excellence in our professional practice. This includes the continuous updating and establishment of protocols and guidelines, fostering a culture of continuous learning through webinars and seminars, and, of course, organizing the biannual MASCO conference. Additionally, our team will be introducing Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to cultivate the professional spirit and values among the Malaysian audiology fraternity. MANSA will also actively work towards bridging the gap and finding effective solutions for medico-legal issues and other pertinent audiology-related field practices in Malaysia.

At MANSA, we uphold an open-door policy, welcoming suggestions, and input from all members. This is evident in the organization of our inaugural Mini Town Hall event in June 2023, where Malaysian audiologists will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and suggestions regarding current happenings in our field.

Furthermore, in addition to our efforts with practicing Malaysian audiologists, MANSA is committed to strengthening the bridge with audiology students across the nation. We aim to guide and support them in navigating the realities of our profession, ensuring their successful transition into the audiology community.

With the dedicated team of MANSA for the 2023-2025 term, we are hopeful that Malaysian audiologists will actively engage in our activities and contribute to the growth and development of our profession.

Thank you for your attention and support. Together, let us shape a brighter future for audiology in Malaysia.

Sincerely,

Associate Prof Dr Nor Haniza Abdul Wahat

President
