The Malaysian National Society of Audiologists (MANSA) or Persatuan Audiologist Kebangsaan Malaysia is a professional association representing Audiologists in Malaysia. MANSA is an active and one of the contributing members of the Audiology committee under the upcoming Allied Health Professional Act.
As a relatively young profession, the role of the association is to work with relevant agencies and institutions to improve on the existing Acts or standards governing either the profession or the service delivery for the hearing impaired population in the country. It also plays a part in ensuring the advancement of Audiology by promoting the professional development of its members, improving research in the field of Audiology, and creating awareness to the public with regards to hearing, tinnitus, and balance impairment. As an affiliate member of the International Society of Audiology, we advocate stellar quality professional standards and promotes a multidisciplinary approach for clinical best practice.
MANSA or Persatuan Kebangsaan Audiologis Malaysia culminated after a group of Audiologists felt that it was time for the profession to be united and have one voice to make changes. The journey started in May, 2009 with more than 40 audiologists from all areas of audiology meeting-up and having it’s Protem committee. The association was finally formed on September 24, 2010. Its members are steadily growing and currently represents more than half the practicing Audiologists in the country.
