Profile

Background

Wan Syafira obtained her PhD at the University of Bristol, UK, in 2012. Her doctoral research has focused on investigating auditory dysfunction in normally hearing tinnitus patients. Currently, she teaches at the Audiology Program, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she obtained her Bachelor in Audiology in 2005. Her research and clinical interests include assessing and managing tinnitus, age-related hearing loss, noise-induced hearing loss and hearing health promotions. She participates actively in establishing and managing the Tinnitus & Hyperacusis Clinic at Klinik Audiologi UKM. She is also a member of the Center for Healthy Aging and Wellness (H-CARE), UKM, responsible for offering hearing-related education and rehabilitation for older adults.
